Printmaking artist
Printmaking artist. Luca Leonelli is a contemporary Italian artist whose works of art range through the various forms of expression he has experimented: from oil painting to drawing, engraving and art editions produced jointly with contemporary writers and poets. Leonelli has thus produced the pictures which comment and highlight, in a sort of dialogue between the arts, the verse of Arturo Schwarz: In “Il fiore più bello del mondo”, in fact, six aquatints of Leonelli are proposed as an iconographic accompaniment to six poems of Schwarz, giving them an interpretation of tones and colours which amplifies their beauty. Or in the engravings accompanying the unpublished texts of Giorgio Celli “Il Cervo Volante, La formica, La vespa, La zanzara”, assembled in a silk-screen printed folder making them a precious and sought-after object.
